Kozmo (A)live presents Those Guys
(who did the amazing “Tribute to Doors” show last November!)
Date: 19th July Saturday at 8pm
At : the Kozmo Lounge
Address: Plot 74 Rd 5A Sat AMsjid Rd, Dhanmondi

In November 2007 Kozmo presented what could be one of the best performances that the city’s music lovers had seen in a long while. The show was planned as a tribute to the legendary 1960s band The Doors, and the performers, a group of five young university students, faithfully recreated the music and voice of the legendary Lizard King Jim Morrison.

The show was titled “A Tribute to the Doors” the packed audience made their way on the floor, just to get a glimpse of what most of them called as the “rebirth” of Jim Morrison. The vocalist Salzar Rahman, in possession of a supple, demonstrative voice that sounds incapable of a flat note won hearts instantly. He began the performance with the epic “The End” and his gang followed The Doors sophomoric chord changes that left everyone awestruck.

The extremely talented band, composed of guitarists Imran Ahmed and Saadat Hamid, bassist Saad Muntazim and Sabbir Hossain on the drums, beautifully complemented Salzar’s vocal mastery effectively with unrestrained enthusiasm, faithfully replicating each note, chord and drum solos as first heard on the Doors’ records four decades ago.

Those Guys this time is putting up another show covering tracks from Jimi Hendrix. The Cure, Pearl Jam, Dire Straits and off course the Doors!

Kozmo (A)live presents Sohini Alam (of After Art from London)

Date: 19th July Saturday at 8pm
At : the Kozmo Lounge
Address: Plot 74 Rd 5A Sat AMsjid Rd, Dhanmondi

Sohini’s music has been described as “Bangla Soul”, mainly owing to the range and power of her vocals. Her repertoire includes folk, patriotic, modern and traditional Bengali songs with a specialisation in the songs of Nazrul. Some of her collaborations on acoustic and electronic Asian music with worldwide influences have been with Soumik Datta and with Sajib Azad of the band AfterArt. She has performed in the US, the UK and Bangladesh as a soloist and as a member of Amra Kojon and Drishtipat Creative.

"Sohini Alam will break your heart with her throaty, folksy, soulful voice. Her range is incredible-she is as comfortable singing Nazrul as she is more modern fusion music-and she brings to each song a depth of emotion that will leave you amazed, astounded, and rushing to join the swelling ranks of her fan club. Not to be missed."-Tahmima Anam
